The apples are ripe, the pumpkins are full and the weather is perfect for a drive to our farm in the spectacularly beautiful St. Croix River Valley!

This year we've expanded our AppleFest Festival to two weekends, with live music from the Back Porch Band, children's activities, eats and treats, farm animals and more. Join us for a terrific Fall weekend, and combine your visit with a walk along the river at Afton State Park or a family picnic at the playground at St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park, both just minutes away on St. Croix Trail.

Whistling Well Farm (so named because our well whistles when the wind is just right) is owned by Charlie and Carol Johnson and sons Chad and Neal.  Our 67-acre farm, is located in Basswood Grove, one of Minnesota’s earliest settled communities, just south of Afton State Park and north of St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park.

We bought the farm in 1972 and committed ourselves to producing Minnesota’s best apples and produce.  Our produce is sold in area stores and delivered fresh to St. Croix Valley restaurants. 

Pick-your-own apples or buy a washed and graded bag.  Pumpkins are ready for picking as well.  Come spend the day!  We welcome your visit and encourage you to bring your family!  There’s NO ADMISSION CHARGE.
